The 27-year-old actress - who welcomed Honor, her first child with husband Cash Warren, worldwide in June - is struggling to leave her daughter when she goes to work.
Jessica Alba told People magazine: "To be honest with you, it is difficult - and if it was any other film I would not do so. It is difficult to spend time away from her.
"I love my daughter and she will be with me all day on the set."
Jessica Alba plays a math teacher who helps young students in difficulty in the new movie, which also stars Mackenzie Milone.
